MVHS Cares Gobblepalooza Turkey Trot & Wellness Walk
The 18th annual MVHS Cares Gobblepalooza Turkey Trot & Wellness Walk takes place on November 21, 2026 at Mount Vernon High School, 8515 Old Mount Vernon Road, Alexandria, VA 22309. The event uses a VDoT-approved course that starts and finishes at the school entrance and winds through nearby neighborhoods.
Two distances are offered:
- 5K (3.1 miles) one loop of the adjusted route
- 10K (6.2 miles) two loops of the adjusted route
The starting area also serves as the finish area. Participants are met by a live band and volunteers who provide fruit and water at the finish. The event is held rain or shine.
Early registration fees are listed as $30 for the 5K and $40 for the 10K, with higher fees on race day. Certain groups receive a $5 discount, including FCPS students and staff, federal employees, and military families; discount verification is handled at packet pick up with appropriate ID.
Event proceeds support MVHS programs and initiatives, including music therapy, service and leadership scholarships, school education and wellness initiatives, and after school clubs and athletics. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
