About the race
Founded in 1989, the Sullivan Run/Walk for Health and Fitness takes place in Oak Bluffs, Massachusetts, at Washington Park and along a USATF-certified 5K course through East Chop with views of Nantucket Sound. The event is scheduled for August 22, 2026 and includes separate running and walking options plus a short kids race.
Distances include:
- 25 m Kids Dash in Washington Park
- 5K Run through East Chop
- 5K Walk along the certified course
Commemorative T-shirts will be distributed to the first 300 registered participants. Strollers and leashed pets are permitted; participants using them are asked to remain toward the back of the pack and to use caution during the event. Public parking near Washington Park and Oak Bluffs Harbor is limited, so carpooling, bicycling, or walking is encouraged when possible. The event will be held rain or shine.
Bib and T-shirt pickup takes place at two locations on the days before and of the event: at MV Hospital Main Lobby and at Washington Park.
