Event
The 45th Hyannis Marathon weekend includes a marathon, half marathon, 10K, and a marathon team relay. The event is organized by The Fun Road Race Company and is based at the Cape Cod Irish Village at The Emerald Resort & Conference Center, 35 Scudder Avenue, Hyannis, Massachusetts. Registration is open and fees vary by registration period.
Course and format
All courses start and finish at the Cape Cod Irish Village. The marathon and marathon team relay use two loops of the half marathon course. Distances offered:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 10K
- Marathon Team Relay (four legs: 7.0, 6.1, 7.0, 6.1 miles; teams of 2, 3, or 4)
The route is paved and described as mostly flat with a few rolling areas. The course passes Hyannis harbor areas, Lewis Bay, local beaches, Hyannisport, and Centerville. The course is not closed to traffic but is monitored by police and volunteers. The marathon and half marathon courses are USATF certified. The event enforces a strict six hour completion limit; safety and course management staff will leave the course after that limit.
Awards
Awards are given to overall female and male winners and to first and second place in age divisions. Age divisions span youth through 90+ and include weight-based Clydesdale and Filly categories.
