Mutts & Marshmallows
Mutts & Marshmallows returns for its 13th year at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. This event features several race distances and formats to support the SPCA of Wake County. Participants can choose between running, walking, or strolling through the designated courses.
The event offers the following distances:
- 8K
- 5K
- 1 Mile Fun Run
- 8K Virtual Race
- 5K Virtual Race
- 1 Mile Virtual Fun Run
Participants in the Doggie Dash 5K and 8K categories are permitted to run with one leashed dog, provided the dog is registered via the specific add-on. For the safety of participants, children aged 12 and younger are not permitted to compete in the Doggie Dash events but may participate in the standard 5K, 8K, or Fun Mile. Parents registered for the standard races are also allowed to push children in strollers, though strollers are not permitted in the Doggie Dash categories.
All in-person and virtual participants in the 5K, 8K, and Fun Mile who register by the specified deadline receive a ceramic mug and a finishers medal. After the race, finishers are provided with hot chocolate. The event is part of a year-long race series, and awards are available for top finishers in various age groups and for those who set new course records.
