Mutt Strut - DeKalb
Mutt Strut is a community fundraising walk and run organized by Tails Humane Society in Hopkins Park, DeKalb, Illinois. The event offers a 5K walk/run and a 1 mile walk. Dogs are welcome to participate alongside attendees.
The event benefits Tails Humane Society and the roughly 2,200 homeless pets the organization cares for each year. Proceeds support daily care needs such as food, litter, medicine, and surgical procedures for animals in the shelter.
Packet pick up is available the day before the event and on race day at Hopkins Park. Race day parking options include pool or park district lots and a nearby restaurant lot across Sycamore Road; a pedestrian tunnel under Sycamore Road provides a crossing to the park.
The event is organized as a fun run and walk and is not officially timed. Participants may receive ribbons. By attending, participants grant Tails Humane Society permission to photograph and record their likeness for use in promotional, marketing, educational, or fundraising materials.
