Event Overview
The Mutt Strut is a community event held at Hopkins Park in DeKalb, Illinois. Participants can choose between two different distances during this gathering:
- 5 km walk or run
- 1 mile walk
The event takes place at 1403 Sycamore Road, and the course is open to both runners and walkers. Participants are welcome to bring dogs to the event. The Mutt Strut serves as a fundraiser for Tails Humane Society, an organization that provides care for approximately 2,200 homeless pets each year. Proceeds from the registration are used for animal surgery, medicine, food, and daily care.
Course and Logistics
This event is organized as a fun run and walk. It is not an officially timed competition, though ribbons are provided. Parking is available at the pool or park district lots. Additional parking is located at 1406 Sycamore Road, with a pedestrian tunnel provided to cross under the main road safely.
Packet pick-up is available the evening before the event at Hopkins Park, as well as on the morning of the event. On-site registration is also offered on the day of the activity. Participants should be aware that the organizer may take photographs or recordings during the event for promotional and fundraising purposes.
