Event Overview
The Mustard Seed 5K is a community event featuring a 5K run/walk. The event includes a live race and a virtual participation option. Proceeds from the event benefit Mustard Seed Communities, which provides care for children and adults with disabilities and other vulnerable groups in Nicaragua and other countries.
Location & Date
The in-person event takes place at Cauley Creek Park on Bell Road in Johns Creek, Georgia. It is scheduled for a Sunday in early August.
Race Details
The event offers several participation options:
- 5K Run/Walk: A standard live race.
- Virtual 5K: An option to participate remotely.
- USATF 5K Championships: A certified championship event.
- 5K Run/Walk (No Shirt): A lower-cost live race option without an event shirt.
The course is USATF-certified (certification code GA24020WC) and can serve as a qualifier for the AJC Peachtree Road Race. A detailed course map is available online.
Event Features
Participants in the live event can expect music and food. Race shirts and awards are provided for the standard live events. Awards are given for overall male and female winners, masters winners (ages 40+), and the top three male and female finishers in numerous age categories.
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at a specified retail location in Alpharetta, or on race morning starting at 7:00 AM. A deadline exists to guarantee receiving an event shirt with registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
