About the race
The Muskoka Marathon weekend is a multi-distance running event based at Santa's Village in Bracebridge, Ontario. The event offers a range of race distances and family activities at the theme park.
Distances
- 5 km
- 10 km
- Half marathon
- Marathon (42.2 km)
Courses start and finish at Santa's Village and run along the Muskoka River on out-and-back routes; the marathon is a double out-and-back. The organizers describe the courses as flat and scenic and note a certified 2028 BQ course. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and provides hydration stations every 2.5 km. Race packages for several distances include a GPS-enabled race bib, a wooden finisher's medallion, emailed time results, and a Muskoka Marathon running shoe bag with surprise swag. Marathon entries are shuttled from free parking to Santa's Village and the marathon cut-off time is five hours.
The weekend includes community-focused elements such as kids' races, on-site family activities, a live DJ, and event emcees. Traffic and safety measures are planned for race days: single-lane traffic control, certified flaggers, and police support, with access to properties and businesses maintained. The event supports Campfire Circle; fundraising progress and a stated fundraising goal are listed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
