29th Annual Muskie Run
The Muskie Run is an established community athletic event held in Jamestown, Pennsylvania. The activities take place within Pymatuning State Park, with a course that leads participants across the Pymatuning Dam. This route provides views of the surrounding reservoir and the park landscape.
The event features three distinct distances for participants:
- 5k running race
- 2 mile walk
- 800m Little Muskie Run for children
The 5k race includes a competitive local component where awards recognize the overall male and female finishers. Additionally, handmade wooden muskie trophies are presented to the top three male and female finishers within each specific age bracket. Participants in the 800m children's race receive a small prize upon crossing the finish line.
The event supports the Jamestown Students for Charity Club. This organization utilizes its funds to assist students and community members in need within the Jamestown Area School District. Registration for the different segments opens in February and closes shortly before the race date in May. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
