Mushera-Boggeraghs
The Mushera-Boggeraghs event is an open mountain running race held in County Cork, starting at the gates of Millstreet Country Park. The course features moderate terrain and utilizes the Blackwater Way trail system, including sections marked with yellow trail indicators and IMRA flags. The route involves climbs through mountain passages and fire roads, reaching a summit at the cairn before descending toward the finish line near St Johns Well.
Participants can choose from two distinct distances:
- 10.80 km with a total climb of 500 meters.
- 5.00 km which follows a shorter circuit to the cairn and the Cross.
The long course includes three step-over wire sections and a 1 km out-and-back segment at the Cross. Both routes are fully marked, and the use of GPS devices is permitted. This race is part of the Munster Championship league.
Safety requirements include a mandatory kit for all runners. This standard Level B kit consists of a waterproof jacket, a hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. Registrations are capped at 250 entries. Access to the venue is available via Banteer or Millstreet, with designated overflow parking located at St Johns Well.
