Event Details

Mt. Hillary is a trail running event in County Cork scheduled for Sunday, March 15, 2026. It offers two course distances: a long course of 10 km with 320 m of climb and a short course of 5 km. The event is part of the Coillte Winter/Spring Trail League for the Munster region.

Route and Terrain

The course consists of forest roads and narrow paths and is fully marked. The terrain may be muddy and slippery and will be steep in sections, so appropriate footwear is recommended.

Mandatory Kit

All runners must bring Level A mandatory kit, which includes a showerproof, windproof jacket. The actual kit to be carried during the race will be finalized on the day, depending on conditions. Runners should have the means to carry all kit if required.

Registration and Parking

Registration and parking are at the Glen Theatre in Banteer, Co. Cork. The race start is approximately 1 km from this location, on public roads, and there is no parking at the start. Runners are advised to treat the walk to the start as their warm-up and cool-down. Parking is limited, so carpooling is encouraged.

Entry Information

Entry opens on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 21:00 and closes on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 18:00. The cost is €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. The entry limit is 250 runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
