Murphy 15K | 10K | 5K
The Murphy event offers road races in Murphy and Parker, Texas, with in-person and virtual options. For 2027 it is listed as the 9th Annual Murphy 15K, 10K & 5K. All three courses are USATF certified.
Distances:
- 15K (9.3 miles)
- 10K
- 5K
The 5K is a scenic out-and-back course starting from the venue. The 10K and 15K routes run along the streets of Murphy and through country scenery in Parker. Runners on the longer courses pass by Southfork Ranch, a notable local landmark. The 15K replaced the previous half marathon after updated course restrictions within the City of Murphy made the half marathon no longer feasible.
Race entries in 2026 included a virtual option. Virtual packets for that year were scheduled to ship approximately 4 to 6 weeks after the event date and were available to US continental addresses only. Race participants receive a finisher medal and a gender-specific tech tank while supplies last.
The event is part of AMPT Running’s series. For 2026 it served as the fourth race in a six race series; finishing all six events in that series earned an acrylic base to display the 2026 medal collection. The event benefits the Warrior Dog Foundation, a nonprofit that transitions working K9s into retirement by providing rehabilitation and rehoming options for Military Working Dogs, Contract Working Dogs and Law Enforcement K9s.
