Course Details

The Mullaghcarn Giant is a mountain running event in County Tyrone. The 12 km route starts from the Gortin Glens car park and involves 500 m of total ascent. Runners will summit Mullaghcarn (542m), the most southerly peak of the Sperrins, where a landmark known as the Giant is located. The descent includes boggy terrain, for which trail shoes are recommended. The course will be fully marked and have marshals along the route.

Mandatory Kit

Runners must bring specific mandatory kit, categorized as Level B - Standard. The required items are a waterproof jacket, hat or buff, gloves, a whistle, a charged mobile phone with an emergency number stored, and a foil blanket or bivvy bag. The actual kit to be carried during the race will be confirmed on the event day based on conditions. All runners must have the means to carry this kit. Random kit checks may be performed.
