Mulholland Under the Stars Trail Race
Mulholland Under the Stars is a nighttime trail race on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Marvin Braude Mulholland Gateway Park in Tarzana, California. The event uses a lighted course through the Santa Monica Mountains that allows runners to see city lights and stars above the trail.
Distances
- 5K: 509 feet elevation gain, out-and-back.
- 10K: 855 feet elevation gain, reaches the Nike Missile Site.
All runners must start with a working headlamp or flashlight that lasts the whole race; lights are checked at bib pick-up and per MRCA safety protocol no light means no start. The official cutoff for both races is 8:00 PM.
Aid stations are provided on course: the 5K has aid near mile 1.5 and the 10K has aid near mile 3.0. This is a cupless event; participants should bring a bottle or other fluid container. At the finish, participants receive a medal and race t-shirt and there are awards, food, and music.
The event follows Leave No Trace principles to reduce environmental impact. Volunteer positions are available and volunteers can earn transferable race credits. Registration fees and details are listed on UltraSignup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
