MuleSkinner Endurance Races - Upper Black Eddy, PA
The MuleSkinner Endurance Races take place on October 10, 2026 in Upper Black Eddy, Pennsylvania, at 963 River Rd. The event offers multiple distances on canal towpaths:
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
The course follows mostly towpath terrain that is non-technical and offers continuous scenic views along the river. Organizers plan to run the course primarily on the Pennsylvania side for 2026, with a possible alternative hybrid route using both New Jersey and Pennsylvania towpaths.
The event provides aid stations and time cutoffs that are described as generous. Runners who finish within the allotted times receive a custom MuleSkinner medal and a MuleSkinner technical running shirt. Separate awards are given to the top three women and top three men in each distance. The last finisher of the 50 mile race who completes the course within the allotted time is presented with the Stubborn Mule Award. Medals and top finisher awards are distributed as runners finish.
Camping is available the night before at Tinicum Park, with tent sites located about 100 yards from the start and finish area; these sites are not suitable for RVs. Nearby towns include Frenchtown, Tinicum, Erwinna, New Hope, Doylestown, Buckingham, Stockton, and Point Pleasant.
The event is organized by Spirit Trips. A portion of registration fees will be donated to local conservation organizations, including the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor.
