About the race
MuleSkinner is a set of multi-distance endurance runs held along the Delaware River towpath in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, with courses primarily on the Pennsylvania side on the DNR Canal Towpath and race facilities at Tinicum Park.
Distance options include:
- 13.1 Mile (Half Marathon)
- 26.2 Mile (Marathon)
- 50K
- 50 Mile
Aid stations are spaced about 6 to 7 miles apart and supply water, Gatorade, fruit, cookies, pretzels, Coke or Mountain Dew and other standard aid station fare. The event is cup free; runners must use a water bottle, hydration pack, or reusable cup and carry any waste to aid stations. Porta potties are located at several course points.
50 mile entrants must have completed at least two marathon distance or greater races under applicable cutoff times within the past two years to register. 50 mile runners may use drop bags; all distances may leave gear at aid stations for collection and return to the finish by roving staff. Headlamps are recommended for 50K and 50 mile runners.
Packet pick up is handled at Tinicum Park one hour before each race. Finishers who complete their distance within the event time limits receive a custom MuleSkinner medal and a tech running shirt; top three women and men receive separate awards and the last qualifying finisher of the 50 mile receives the Stubborn Mule Award.
Organizers reserve a group tent camping area at Tinicum Park about 100 yards from the start and finish; these are tent sites only, not RV sites. A portion of registration fees is donated to the Delaware and Lehigh National Heritage Corridor. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
