Course Details
Both courses are fully paved and run primarily downhill alongside the Carbon River.
The marathon begins at Mud Mountain Dam, which has an elevation of 1,400 feet. The route goes through farmlands and forested areas. It finishes in front of the historic McMillin Bridge at an elevation of 200 feet, for a net elevation loss of approximately 1,200 feet. The course is described as a Boston Marathon qualifying course.
The half marathon starts in the town of South Prairie at an elevation of 467 feet. It follows the paved Foothills Rail Trail, passing through farmland and forest before finishing in front of the McMillin Bridge at 128 feet elevation.
