The Freedom 50 - Puyallup, WA
The Freedom 50 is an ultramarathon event held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in Puyallup, Washington. The event offers two distances: 50 miles and 50k (about 31 miles), both run primarily on the paved Foothills Trail from downtown Puyallup toward the edge of Enumclaw. The course includes sections on the Puyallup Riverwalk and brief stretches on connecting shoulders and sidewalks.
Course specifics note minimal elevation change overall. The 50 mile route follows the most scenic sections of the Foothills Trail, includes the White River bridge, and features a subtle gradual ascent on the outward leg with a gentle decline on the return. The 50k follows the same corridor toward South Prairie and uses the fast, flat sections of the trail.
Aid stations are placed along both courses. The 50 mile course visits aid stations eight times on the way plus the finish aid; the 50k has two outbound and two inbound aid stations. The nearest aid station to the halfway point for the 50 mile course is at the Veteran's Memorial Monument adjacent to 251 S River Rd, Buckley, WA, at mile 25.
The start and finish are at Diamond Detail, 412 E Main Ave, Puyallup, WA 98372. Packet pickup is held on race day only at Diamond Detail. The 50 mile event has a 15 hour cutoff. Sponsors include Diamond Detail, Crossfit Puyallup, and Tacoma Trophy. Participants receive a $110 Diamond Detail gift certificate, one month free at Crossfit Puyallup, and a custom cast finisher's medal; other limited promotions apply.
