The Freedom 50
The Freedom 50 is an annual ultramarathon held in Puyallup, Washington on May 29, 2027, over Memorial Day Weekend. The event offers two distance options and follows the paved Foothills Trail and connecting paths through the local riverwalk and farm areas. The event has a 15 hour cutoff.
The race starts and finishes at Diamond Detail in downtown Puyallup. The 50K course follows the Puyallup Riverwalk, crosses the Shaw Road bridge, passes Van Lierop Farm, and links to the Foothills Trail toward South Prairie. The 50 mile course continues past South Prairie to the edge of Enumclaw and includes a crossing of the new White River bridge. The route is entirely paved with minimal elevation change apart from small variations near Buckley.
Aid stations are placed roughly every four miles at McMillin, Crocker, South Prairie, and Buckley, and supply food, water, and electrolytes. The halfway point is near the Veteran's Memorial Monument in Buckley at about mile 25. Packet pickup occurs on race day at the Diamond Detail location.
Finisher benefits include a $110 gift certificate to Diamond Detail, one month of unlimited CrossFit classes at CrossFit Puyallup, and a custom cast finisher medal. Early registration bonuses and awards for top finishers are part of the event program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
