Mud Madness - Chatelherault Country Park
Mud Madness is a family-oriented mud run held at Chatelherault Country Park and organised by South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture on 4 October 2026. The event includes two main formats: a children's 1 km mini mud run and a 5 km family mud run with obstacles and water hazards near the River Avon.
Distances and age guidance:
- 1 km mini mud run, age 4 to 11, marshals at obstacles.
- 5 km family mud run, open to primary-age children and above; under 8s must be accompanied by an adult.
Course and safety: The route is marked with signs, tape, and arrows and staffed by marshals in high-visibility clothing. Obstacles and water features are placed on the course; first aid assistance is available via marshals. The 1 km children’s route is on the lawn and is taped off; adults may briefly enter the taped area to assist a child.
Entries and fees: Entry fees are listed by category, including a family ticket priced for up to two adults and two juniors. Group and club discounts are offered and group reservation options are available prior to the event. Bookings open 9 March 2026 and close 1 October 2026.
Facilities and services: On-site parking is at the Play Park and BBQ Area; visitors are asked not to use the Function Car Park beyond the house. Visitor Centre toilets are available; there are no changing facilities or showers. Registration includes a Mud Madness t-shirt, and finishers receive a medal, water, and a snack. Bag storage tags are available at registration. Photography and video may be taken during the event for promotional use; an opt-out can be requested at registration.
