Mud Madness - Chatelherault Country Park
Mud Madness at Chatelherault Country Park on 4 October 2026 is an outdoor mud-run event organised by South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture. The event offers a children's lawn run and a family 5k mud run with obstacles and water hazards near the river Avon. The course will be marked with signs, tape, and arrows, and marshals in high-visibility clothing will be placed around the route.
Distances
- 1 km mini mud run for age 4 to 11.
- 5 km family mud run, open to primary-age children and above; children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
Participants receive a Mud Madness t-shirt at registration and collect a medal, water, and a snack at the finish. Bag storage tags will be available from registration and the bag drop will be on the lawn. There will be toilets in the Visitor Centre; there are no changing facilities or showers, so attendees are advised to bring a change of clothes and a bin bag to protect car seats.
On-site parking is provided at the Play Park and BBQ Area; attendees are asked not to park in the Function Car Park beyond the house. The Oaks Cafe in the main house is available after the event.
