Mud Madness - Chatelherault Country Park
Mud Madness 2026 is an obstacle mud run event taking place at Chatelherault Country Park on 4 October 2026. The event is organised by South Lanarkshire Leisure & Culture and includes separate races for children and families.
The event distances
- 1 km mini mud run (age 4 to 11)
- 5 km family mud run open to primary age children and above
Entry fees include a junior 1 km ticket at £11, 5 km adult entries at £23 and junior entries at £15. A family ticket is available for £57 (maximum 2 adults and 2 juniors). Group and club bookings are available and reserve slots can be arranged in advance.
Course and safety information: the route will be clearly marked with signs, tape and arrows. Marshals in high visibility clothing will be positioned around the course and can assist with first aid. Obstacles and water hazards are placed on the route, including sections near the River Avon. The children’s 1 km is on the lawn with marshals at each obstacle; adults may assist children if needed.
Facilities and services: parking is provided at the Play Park and BBQ Area; participants are asked not to use the Function Car Park beyond the house. Visitor Centre toilets are available. There are no changing facilities or showers. Registration includes a Mud Madness t shirt; medals, water and a snack are provided at the finish. Bag drop with storage tags will be available on the lawn.
Booking information: bookings open 9 March 2026 and close 1 October 2026. Photography and video may be taken and used for event promotion; an opt out can be requested at registration or on the day.
