MTC GRIMALKIN

MTC GRIMALKIN is a new single day ultra event introduced for 2028. The course covers approximately 34.5 miles, starting at Travelodge Perth A9 and finishing at Atholl Guest House in Pitlochry. The route passes three check points at Bankfoot, Dunkeld and Pitlochry with mileages recorded along the route. The race is also Day 4 of the nine day MTC SCOTIA series, so some competitors will be running alongside SCOTIA entrants.

Entries are limited to 20 race places with an additional allowance of 20 places for SCOTIA competitors, for a maximum of 40 runners. All finishers receive a GRIMALKIN medal and male and female champions receive bespoke trophies. Entry fees are stated as £90 for the standard entry and £155 for a plus race package that includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi viz jacket, with clothing guaranteed only if ordered at least four weeks before the event. All deposits and payments are non refundable, and there is an option at checkout to add personal cancellation insurance.

The event uses preset cut offs based on a minimum average pace of 4 mph; competitors who fall below this will be withdrawn. Maps and GPX files and route maps are provided to entrants by email four weeks before the race. Competitors must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food.
