MTC GRIMALKIN
The MTC GRIMALKIN is a single day ultra event in Scotland scheduled for 30th May 2028. It forms Day 4 of the Mount to Coast SCOTIA nine day end to end series and covers approximately 34 miles from Travelodge Perth A9 to the Atholl Guest House in Pitlochry. Competitor numbers are restricted to 20 entries plus an allowance of 20 SCOTIA competitors, giving a maximum field of 40.
The event uses preset cut-offs based on a minimum average speed of 4 mph; competitors who fall below this requirement may be withdrawn. Maps and GPX files are issued to entrants only, and the organiser provides each competitor with a tracking device that includes an SOS function. Checkpoints provide food such as malt loaf, sandwiches, sweets, squash, cola and water, and the race operates as a cup free event so competitors should bring a reusable cup.
Mandatory kit is required and includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, maps provided before the race, a compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food, and a waterproof map case. Entry fees are non refundable; published options include a standard entry and a plus package that adds an embroidered race shirt and hi vis jacket.
