MTC Green Skin
The MTC Green Skin is an approximately 36 mile ultra running event that forms Day 7 of the MTC Albion end to end of England series, part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge. The route follows the same course used by the MTC JOGLE event but with reduced daily distances, starting at the Talbot Hotel and finishing at the Tudor House Hotel. Reported cumulative route points include CP1 at about 9.7 miles (Great Witley), CP2 at about 17.6 miles (Hallow), and CP3 at about 25.9 miles (The Tything), with a total route length shown as 35.5 miles.
Entries are limited to 20 direct competitors plus an allowance of 20 Albion competitors, for a maximum of 40 starters. The organiser enforces a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph as the basis for preset cut-off times; competitors who fall below this standard may receive warnings and can be withdrawn. All finishers receive a Green Skin medal; male and female champions receive bespoke trophies.
Maps and GPX files are provided only to entrants and are emailed four weeks before the event. Competitors carry tracking devices with SOS function. The event is cup free so runners must use a reusable cup. Mandatory kit includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone and basic first aid and blister treatment.
