Splash & Dash Aquathlon
The Black Country Triathletes Splash & Dash is a multi-sport event held at the Wombourne/Ounsdale Leisure Centre in Wombourne. The competition consists of a swim followed by a run, with options available for both individual participants and relay teams. Participation is open to youth entrants provided they are at least 15 years of age by December 31st of the year of the event.
The event features the following distances:
- 400 m pool swim
- 5 km out and back run
The competition is conducted in a traffic-free environment. The swim portion takes place in the leisure centre pool, while the 5 km run utilizes an out and back route along a disused railway line. On-site facilities include basic catering for participants and spectators.
Awards are presented for various categories, including Male and Female Open, Vets, and Supervets. Results for the competition are provided on the day of the event. To participate, individuals who are not members of a British Triathlon Home Nation are required to obtain a British Triathlon Race Pass. The event has a total capacity of 250 places.
