Event
The MTC Bodach is the thirteenth day of the MTC MizMal® fourteen day series and is listed as the first edition. The route runs from Villa Rose Hotel and Spa, F93 C2CF, finishing at Inishowen Gateway Hotel, F93 PPH9. The total distance is given as 37.4 miles with 2,136 ft of ascent and 2,185 ft of descent. The route largely follows the MizMal® line as provided by Wild Atlantic Cycling.
Entries, cutoffs and prizes
Entry is limited to 20 race-only competitors with an additional allowance of 20 MizMal® competitors, for a maximum of 40 starters. The event enforces time cut-offs based on a minimum average speed of 4 mph; competitors who fall below this threshold may be withdrawn. All finishers receive a Bodach medal. Male and female champions receive bespoke trophies.
Logistics and mandatory equipment
Maps, GPX files and route information are provided to entrants only and are emailed before the event. Competitors receive a tracking device with SOS functionality. The race is cup-free; competitors must bring a reusable cup. The mandatory kit list includes a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS device, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and emergency food. Check-points supply items such as malt loaf, sandwiches, sweets, squash, cola and water.
Fees and policies
Standard entry is £90. A race package including an embroidered shirt and hi-viz jacket is listed at £155. All deposits and payments are non-refundable; a defer option is available for a fee if used within the stated booking window. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
