MTC Black Anise
The MTC Black Anise is a one day ultra run covering a total distance of 38.1 miles. The route runs from Lancaster to Wigan and uses the same corridor as the MTC JOGLE event but with reduced daily distances. The race is day 3 of the MTC ALBION thirteen day end to end of England series and forms part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge.
Entry is limited to 20 competitors with an additional allowance of 20 for ANGLIAN entrants, giving a maximum field of 40. All fees are non refundable, with an option at checkout to add personal cancellation insurance. A race plus package is available that includes an embroidered race shirt and a lightweight hi viz jacket if ordered at least four weeks before the event.
Organisers set preset checkpoint cut off times based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph. Competitors who fall below the minimum and do not recover may be withdrawn. Maps and GPX files are provided to entrants approximately four weeks before the race and real time tracking devices with SOS functions will be issued to competitors.
Competitors must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, provided route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first aid and an emergency food pack.
