Mt Pleasant Sizzlin' Summer 5k
This is the first annual Sizzlin' Summer 5k, a Wednesday evening running event in downtown Mount Pleasant that follows a scenic course through the parks. The 5K course is described as accurate and routed through park areas near the town center.
Registration opens March 14 and uses tiered entry fees: $30 through June 8 with a T-shirt option, $35 from June 9 through June 24 without a shirt, and $40 on race day without a shirt. Packet pick up takes place race day from 5:30 pm to 6:50 pm at the start/finish pavilion near the volleyball courts.
Results will be provided as accurate chip times, with live overall and age-group placements. All finishers receive a finisher medal. Overall male and female winners receive a $25 Runners gift certificate.
Proceeds from the race will support the local cross country team to help cover the cost of their summer camps and local course upkeep.
