Moving Mountains 5K for Adoption
The Moving Mountains 5K for Adoption is a community run held on November 1, 2026 at Aberdeen Elementary School in Aberdeen, North Carolina. Registration for each runner is free; registration opens August 30, 2026 and closes October 30, 2026. Merchandise sales are noted as closed in advance, with pickup available October 25 at Aberdeen Elementary School or on race day at the registration table. A limited number of t shirts and hoodies will be available for sale on race day.
One hundred percent of race profits support the Faithful Bible Church Adoption and Orphan Care Fund. That fund supplies grants and scholarships for adopting families and for children served through medical and foster care assistance. Since 2017 the church reports $32,098 awarded in adoption and foster care grants, helping bring five children home and serving four others. The stated fundraising goal for this year is $25,000.
The event uses a family friendly course and permits runners and walkers of all ages, as well as strollers and mobility devices. Fundraising methods for the event include donations, t shirt and sweatshirt sales, and sponsorships of individual runners or corporate sponsorships. Prizes will be awarded to top male and female performers in multiple age categories. The event organizer will also recognize a grand prize winner for the runner who raises the most sponsorship funds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
