Moving Mountains 5K for Adoption
The Moving Mountains 5K for Adoption is scheduled for November 1, 2026, at Aberdeen Elementary School in Aberdeen, NC (525 Farrell Parkway, 28315). The event is organized to raise funds for the Faithful Bible Church Adoption and Orphan Care Fund; 100 percent of race profits go to that fund.
Registration for the race is free. Registration opens August 30, 2026 and closes October 30, 2026. Merchandise sales close October 2, 2026; purchased t-shirts and hoodies can be picked up on Sunday, October 25 at Aberdeen Elementary School or on race day at the registration table.
Fundraising for the adoption fund comes from donations, t-shirt and sweatshirt sales, and both corporate and individual runner sponsorships. The event materials state a fundraising goal of $25,000 for the year. Since the first Moving Mountains 5K in 2022, the fund has distributed $32,098 in adoption and foster care grants, which organizers report helped bring five children home and provided medical and foster care assistance for four others.
The course is described as family friendly; runners and walkers of all ages, strollers, and mobility devices are welcome. Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female performers in multiple age categories. Donations may also be made directly to the Faithful Bible Church Adoption and Orphan Care Fund via the church website or in person on race day.
