Event details
The Move Your Mutt 5k Run/Walk is scheduled for Sunday, May 3, 2026, at the Eaton County Fairgrounds in Charlotte, Michigan. The event is a 5k run/walk that starts and finishes at the fairgrounds and includes sections through Bennet Park. The course is mixed terrain with dirt, grass, and paved sections. Dogs are allowed; a maximum of two dogs per registrant is permitted and all dogs must be on a leash. Overall male and female winners receive trophies, and medals are awarded to the top three finishers in the following 5K age categories: 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60 and up. Timing is provided by the Michigan Running Foundation.
Registration and logistics
Registration opens January 1, 2026. Fees are $25 until April 12, $30 from April 13 to April 26, and $35 during race week (April 27 to May 2). All registrations must be completed online. T-shirts are provided to paid participants who register by April 19, 2026, with adult sizes S-2XL and youth sizes S-XL available. Early packet pickup is scheduled at the Eaton County Fairgrounds on Saturday, May 2. Proceeds fund the Eaton County Dog Program to maintain equipment, run educational classes for youth, and support an annual show. Results will be posted live immediately following the event.
