About the race
The Mountaineer Turkey Strut 5K is scheduled for November 26, 2026 in Mount Vernon, Missouri, at the Mt. Vernon Courthouse Square (1 East Courthouse Square, 65712). The event is a measured 5K running race with chip timing provided by Agee Race Timing.
Registration opens September 2, 2026 and closes November 16, 2026. The listed fees are $30 for an individual entry and $100 for a family of four. Packet pick up is available on Wednesday, November 25 at Keen Bean (1031 S Market, Mt Vernon, MO) from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., or on race morning at the downtown green space from 7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.
Awards include custom medals, with prizes for overall male and female and for masters male and female. Age group medals will be awarded for male and female in these groups: 0 to 9, 10 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and over.
This year's beneficiary is to be determined. Participants are asked to bring two canned goods to donate to the St. Susanne Food Pantry. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
