Ruck 'N' Run (12th Annual)
Ruck 'N' Run takes place on November 7, 2026 in Republic, Missouri, with in-person and virtual participation options. The event offers multiple course lengths and formats, including both ruck and run versions, plus a free .9 mile option. Only 650 registration spots are available.
The event uses exercise stations placed along the route. Ruck events involve walking with a backpack, rucksack, or weighted vest and stopping at stations to perform repetitions; runners follow the same route without carrying weight. Participants may choose the noncompetitive Participant track or the Competitor track with prescribed requirements. Organizers encourage using canned goods as pack weight and collecting them for donation to local homeless Veterans.
The Norwegian Foot March 30K is a ruck only event added to the program. It requires a dry rucksack weight of 11 kg and has specific uniform and footwear guidance that permits military or civilian long trousers and boots but not running shoes. The 30K has no exercise stations, all registrants for that route are Competitors, and maximum allowable finish times vary by age and sex.
The program also includes virtual Shadow options where registrants complete chosen routes independently and event materials are mailed in relation to the annual date. The free .9 mile course gives a single optional exercise station and does not include a bib, medal, packet, or t shirt. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
