Mountain Tiger Diablo - October 10, 2026
Mountain Tiger Diablo is a trail running event in Clayton, California, based at Mitchell Canyon (96 Mitchell Canyon Rd). The course is a single out-and-back loop of 12.4 miles that reaches the Mount Diablo summit via the most direct route and returns to the Mitchell Canyon finish area.
The route features about 4,000 feet of climbing and 4,000 feet of descending. Runners leave the Mitchell Canyon visitor area, climb approximately 1,700 feet in the first 2.5 miles by ascending Eagle Peak, then continue on Bald Ridge Trail to the summit. The descent drops about 4,000 feet over roughly 6 miles via Prospector's Gap and Back Creek Trail, with a short spur on Summit Trail included in the loop. A cutoff of 5:00 applies to the course.
Entry costs $95 plus fees. The fee includes group shuttle transportation between an off-site parking area and the start/finish (the shuttle ride is about five minutes), transportation back to parked cars after the race, one entry to the post-race raffle, and a unique finisher item. Parking at the race area is limited. The event offers no refunds; rollovers to 2027 are permitted until September 1. Registration closes on Wednesday, October 7, 2026.
