Mountain Laurel 5K Run
The Mountain Laurel 5K is a scenic, dog friendly run and walk sponsored by the Friends of Laurel Hill. The course traverses shaded woods along Jones Mill Run and follows the shore of Laurel Hill Lake on a well-maintained pedestrian and bike path. The event is offered for the health and enjoyment of park visitors.
Proceeds from the race support projects within Laurel Hill State Park. Organizers maintain a race course map and past results for the event.
The run is presented as part of the Laurel Hill Bluegrass Music Festival, held within the 4,000 acre Laurel Hill State Park in Somerset County. The two day festival is scheduled for August 21 and 22, 2027, and features six bands, artisans, food vendors, children's activities, and wagon rides. Admission to the festival is free, and the location creates opportunities for visitors to combine the running event with other festival activities.
