The Mountain Goat Trail Race takes place on April 4, 2026 in Sewanee, Tennessee. The event uses the Mountain Goat Trail, a paved rail-trail project; the route is entirely on asphalt and is described as flat and fast. Traditional road distances are offered along the trail corridor and nearby side roads.
Distances:
- Half marathon: starts at Mountain Outfitters in Monteagle; follows Mountain Goat Trail to Sewanee.

- 2 mile walk: starts at Bella Pearl's Restaurant in Sewanee; finishes at Mountain Outfitters.
The half-marathon route travels on the Mountain Goat Trail to Sewanee, loops on side roads, and returns to finish at Mountain Outfitters in Monteagle. The race is sponsored by Mountain Outfitters. Registration opens February 14, 2026. Packet pickup is scheduled for Friday, April 18 at Tower Community Bank in Monteagle.
