The 2026 Mount Vernon Park 5k & 10k takes place on September 6, 2026 at Mount Vernon District Park in Alexandria, VA. The event offers two distances:

The course runs on park trails; the 5k follows two laps of the route and the 10k follows four laps. Points from this event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Summer Series. A virtual race option is available. Logistics and race details
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical drifit event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirt sizes are guaranteed for runners registered before August 26; extra shirts may be available afterward on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees listed are $30 for the 5k (rising to $35 after August 31) and $45 for the 10k (rising to $50 after August 31); prices increase by $5 on race morning. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered, though race-day shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed.
There are three water stations on the 10k course at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65, and one water station on the 5k at about mile 1.55; Gatorade may be available at some stations. Restrooms are near the parking lot. Live results are posted online and a QR code at the event provides immediate access. Awards are given to the top 3 men and women overall and to 1st and 2nd place in multiple age categories. The Back of the Pack time is listed as 12:00 min/mile.
