2026 Mount Vernon Park 5k & 10k
This event is a trail running event held at Mount Vernon District Park in Alexandria, VA. The course uses park trails; the 5 km route is two laps and the 10 km route is four laps of the same loop. Walkers are welcome.
Points earned at the event count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k, and Back of the Pack Series and also toward the Summer Series. A virtual race option is available for those who cannot attend in person.
Participants receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Dri-Fit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before August 26; extra shirts are available later on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration fees are listed per distance with early and late pricing; fees increase on race morning.
Course support includes three water stations on the 10k at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65, and one water station on the 5k at approximately mile 1.55. Some stations will offer Gatorade. Restrooms are located near the parking lot. Packet pickup is available at the event and organizers recommend arriving early to check in.
Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to age-group finishers across standard age brackets. Final results with series points are posted after the race and live results are available during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
