Mt. Shasta 4th of July Walk / Run
The Mt. Shasta 4th of July Walk / Run is a family-friendly Independence Day event held in downtown Mt. Shasta. The event offers multiple course options and provides on-course entertainment with a variety of performers placed along the route, including church choirs, belly dancers, gymnasts, classical musicians, country bands, and family singers.
The event serves as a primary fundraiser for local youth and community groups and for the hosting organization SORA. Proceeds are reinvested into community health and fitness projects, local youth sports activities, and downtown beautification and enhancement projects.
The event has a long history in the community, running for over 40 years and drawing thousands of participants. All registered participants are entered into prize drawings, with additional prizes added as the event approaches. The location is accessible by highway from four major airports.
