Mount Shasta Tinman Triathlon and Duathlon
The Mount Shasta Tinman is a combined triathlon and duathlon held at Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort in Mt. Shasta City, California. The event is a fundraiser for the Dunsmuir Rotary Wildcat Weekender Backpack Food Program.
The race options and official distances are:
- Triathlon: swim 750 yards, bike 16.6 miles, run 5K
- Duathlon: run 5K, bike 16.6 miles, run 5K
The event is open to athletes ages 13 and older. Collegiate teams race in a separate wave and do not compete with standard age divisions. Age group divisions for men and women include 14 and under (13 by event date), 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70+.
Race weekend activities include packet pickup at the Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort Snack Shack on the beach and check-in on race morning at the transition area. The transition area requires a bib for entry; relay bike racks are labeled and body marking is located near the transition area. Aid provisions include water and electrolytes in the transition area and a water station at the run turnaround.
Entry fees vary by registration period. Racers who register before August 10 receive an official event T-shirt and a custom medal. Awards are given for overall winners and for 1st through 3rd places in age groups for the triathlon, plus relay team awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
