Mother's Day Half Marathon 5K & 1 Mile Walk
The Mother's Day Half Marathon, 5K, and 1 Mile Walk is a running event managed by the Rockaway Track Club. The event takes place on the boardwalk at Rockaway Beach, with the start and finish lines located at Beach 94th Street.
Participants can choose from three distinct distances:
- 13.1 Miles (Half Marathon)
- 3.1 Miles (5K Run)
- 1 Mile (Walk)
The Half Marathon course consists of two loops. Runners head west from Beach 94th Street to a U-turn at Beach 124th Street, then travel east to Beach 54th Street for another U-turn before returning to the start point. This loop is repeated twice to complete the full distance. The 5K Run follows an out-and-back route, where participants run west to Beach 124th Street and turn back toward the finish line at 94th Street.
Course support include water and Gatorade at various locations. For the half marathon, there are at least four water stops provided on each of the two loops. Participants receive a t-shirt and a medal for completing the event. Public parking is available in a lot located on Beach 94th Street.
