About the race
The Mother's Day Classic - Melbourne is a community walk and run event held in Naarm (Melbourne) with the event village based around Alexandra Gardens and The Tan.
Available course options include:
- 21.1 km (MDC Half Marathon)
- 12 km (new course along the Yarra River finishing in Alexandra Gardens)
- 8 km
- 4 km
The 12 km course follows the Yarra River and finishes in the event village. The 4 km and 8 km courses start on Alexandra Avenue and complete one or two laps around The Tan track before finishing in the event village. The Embrace & Honour walks include an invitation to observe a minute of silence at the start to acknowledge those touched by breast or ovarian cancer.
Onsite services and facilities include bib collection and registration on the Palms Lawn (Boathouse Drive), an event village baggage storage area at the Langham Melbourne cloak room, toilets and a Parent's Pod, water refill stations, and bicycle parking. Food and beverage vendors include coffee by Axil Roasters, BBQ by Rotary Club, and a range of street-food vendors.
The event is wheelchair and pram friendly. Entertainment across the village and course includes live music, roaming entertainers, a Kids Zone with sensory facilities, and family-focused stage performances.
