Mother's Day Classic - Maribyrnong
The event takes place at Coulson Gardens in Maribyrnong, VIC. It is a community fun run and walk that supports breast and ovarian cancer research. Registrations for this specific event have closed.
Two route options are offered:
- 10 km
- 4 km
Both routes start on Newstead Street and follow Newstead Street toward the Afton Street Bridge, continuing along Chifley Drive to a turnaround point. After the turnaround the course proceeds anticlockwise. Run participants complete two laps of the anticlockwise circuit, passing Plantation Street, Anglers Tavern, Maribyrnong Road Bridge, and the Essendon Rowing Club, then cross Afton Street Bridge to finish at Plantation Street in Coulson Gardens. Walk participants complete one anticlockwise lap along the same route.
Event facilities include an event village with food trucks and a coffee van, public and portable toilets, accessible parking and toilets, and water stations. The course is pram and wheelchair friendly. Parking is available at several nearby sites including Anglers Tavern, Aberfeldie Park and Essendon Rowing Club. Tram and bus stops serve the area. The event does not use official run timing on the day. Dogs are allowed in all areas, including the course, and must be on leash. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
