Mother's Day 5K and 2 Mile Walk
The Mother's Day 5K takes place in Yorktown Heights, New York, starting at 2957 Crompond Road. This annual event is held on Mother's Day and offers opportunities for both runners and walkers.
Participating athletes can choose from the following distances:
- 3.1 Miles (5K) running race
- 2 Miles walking only event
The 3.1 Miles 5K race is limited to female participants. The 2 Miles walk is open to all women, as well as boys under the age of 19. The event accommodates families by allowing baby joggers and strollers specifically during the walking portion of the morning. However, dogs are not permitted on the course for either distance.
Registration fees are tiered based on age and timing. Children between the ages of 1 and 12 may participate for free, while those aged 13 to 18 have a reduced entry fee. Adult registration prices increase as the event date approaches, with the lowest rates available during the pre-registration period. Members of the organizing club receive a discount on early entries.
The first 250 participants to sign up receive a commemorative shirt. Adult finishers are provided with mimosas and wine glasses. Competitive participants in the 5K running race are eligible for age group awards according to standard categories.
