11th Annual Morris Superhero Run
The Morris Superhero Run is an annual community event organized by the GFWC-IL Morris Woman's Club in downtown Morris, Illinois. The event features multiple distance options and takes place around the Grundy County Courthouse lawn, which serves as the central location for the start, finish, and post-race activities.
The event offers two primary distances:
- 5 km
- 1 km
The 5 km route is a USATF certified course (IL17045NM) that allows participants to walk, run, or use strollers. The 1 km Kids & EveryONE course is designed to be accessible for various fitness levels and abilities. This shorter route is mostly paved, making it suitable for adaptive bikes, strollers, and wheelchairs.
Proceeds from the 2026 event support The Heart of a Hero Award, a scholarship dedicated to the memory of Alexxis McKerrow. This award is presented to students who demonstrate empathy, kindness, and compassion. Participants contribute to this cause by running, walking, or volunteering. The event is scheduled for April 25th, 2026, and is open to runners and walkers of all levels. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
