11th Annual Morris Superhero Run
The 11th annual Morris Superhero Run takes place in downtown Morris, Illinois. This community event consists of a variety of distance options through the local streets, starting and finishing at the FOE located at the corner of Washington and Liberty Streets. Participants are encouraged to attend the event dressed as their favorite superhero characters.
The following distances are available for registration:
- 5K Superhero Fun Run
- 1K Fun Run and Walk for kids and adults
- Virtual Run option
The course is located within the nostalgic downtown district. To ensure the safety of all participants and comply with municipal regulations, only service animals are permitted on the race course and in the downtown area during the event; pets are not allowed.
The 2026 edition of the race is organized by the GFWC Morris Woman's Club. Proceeds from the event are donated to The Heart of a Hero Award, a special scholarship and recognition program. This award spotlights a Morris senior who demonstrates kindness, compassion, and inclusivity. The program was created in memory of Alexxis McKerrow to honor individuals who make a positive difference in the community through quiet acts of good and empathy.
