Event details
The Morning After Fell Race takes place on 1 January 2026 at Church Stretton Scout Hut, Church Street, Church Stretton, SY6 6DQ (what3words: gourmet.workbench.conducted). The event is a fell race only; there is no separate walkers' event. Entry fee is £8.00. Entries open 22 October 2025 and close 28 December 2025. The minimum age is 16 on the event date. Limited entries will also be available on the day. The entry includes a soup and roll. Entries listed so far are 11 participants.
Course, prizes and practical information
The course retains the route used in 2025 and is a varied 8km circuit. The route goes through Rectory Woods, Carding Mill Valley and the northern part of the Long Mynd. The course is fully marked. Organisers describe it as sufficiently challenging for experienced fell runners and suitable for newcomers to fell running. Prizes will be awarded after the race in the following categories: M/W U18, U23, Senior, V40, V50, V60, V70, and first local runner (Church Stretton, All Stretton, Little Stretton and Hope Bowdler). Public car parking is available in Church Stretton (SY6 6BX). Organisers ask participants to park responsibly and consider car sharing.
