Event Overview
The Morgan Hill Trail Races take place in Morgan Hill State Forest near Fabius, New York. The event offers a Marathon (~26.2 miles) and a Half Marathon (~13.4 miles). A non-competitive Half Marathon Hike is also available.
Course Details
The courses are primarily single-track trails, following the Onondaga Trail and some mountain bike paths. The routes pass ponds, waterfalls, and vistas, including the highest point in Onondaga County. The marathon course includes an additional loop called Fellows Hill. The terrain is described as having rocks and roots. The event occurs in late September.
- Marathon: ~4,291 feet of elevation change.
- Half Marathon: ~2,329 feet of elevation change. Both distances share an 8-hour cutoff time. The event is a UTMB Index race and is Trail Sisters approved.
Aid Stations and Amenities
Aid stations provide water, Skratch sports drink, orange slices, bananas, pickles, PB&J sandwiches, potato chips, pretzels, Oreos, and candy. Ice is available if temperatures are high. All participants receive a pair of socks from the organizer, Salt City Trail Racing (SCTR). Prizes are awarded to top finishers in each gender division for every distance.
Registration Information
Online registration closes two days before the event. Refunds are not granted. Deferrals are available for pregnancy, injury, or if a participant volunteers at the race (subject to slot availability).
