Morgan Hill Freedom Run
The Morgan Hill Freedom Run is a component of the annual Independence Day Freedom Fest in Morgan Hill, California. This morning athletic event takes place on the 4th of July and features a course that goes through the historic, tree-lined downtown area of the city. The race serves as an opening activity for a larger holiday celebration that includes an officially recognized county parade and several community gatherings.
Participants can choose between two main distances:
- 5K Run/Walk (3.1 miles)
- Kids 1 Mile
The event starts at the corner of Peak Avenue and Dunne Avenue, with the finish line located at 17575 Peak Avenue. Registration for the races is open to the public with set fees for both the short distance and the 5K event.
Aside from the run, the Freedom Fest includes various activities throughout the day such as a car cruise and show, a street dance, and a patriotic sing. The festivities conclude with a fireworks and entertainment show held at the local sports center. Bib pickup occurs on designated dates prior to the race at local community locations and is also available at the finish line area on the morning of the event.
