Moreau Half
The Moreau Half is a trail race held at Moreau Lake State Park near Gansevoort, NY. The start and finish are located at the park beach near 605 Old Saratoga Road. The route covers roughly 14 miles and includes about 2700 feet of elevation gain.
The course runs over winding, technical singletrack and is fully marked. One aid station is provided at Bonita Lake, located at about six miles into the route. The event description notes that this is not a half marathon for beginners and that most runners should expect to double their road half-marathon time on this terrain.
There is no fee to enter the park. Parking is available near the park beach. The race uses existing trails within the Moreau Lake State Park trail system and emphasizes technical mountain singletrack conditions rather than road running conditions.
