Trail Race at Moreau Lake State Park
The Moreau Half is a trail running event held in Gansevoort, New York. The course takes participants through the Moreau Lake State Park trail system, featuring a variety of mountain singletrack sections. This race is conducted as a single distance event:
- 14 mile trail run
The route consists of approximately 14 miles with an elevation gain of 2,700 feet. The terrain is composed of winding, technical singletrack paths. Due to the nature of the trails, runners can anticipate completion times roughly double those of a road half-marathon.
The event infrastructure includes a start and finish area located at the Moreau Lake State Park beach. Parking is available near the beach area, and there is no fee to enter the park for the event. The course is fully marked to guide participants through the park.
A single aid station is positioned at Bonita Lake to provide support. This station is located approximately 6 miles into the race route. Participants who register by the mid-October deadline are guaranteed an event shirt. Registration for the event closes several days prior to the race date.
