Moorpark Groundhog Day 5k/1M
The event on February 6, 2027 at Moorpark High School in Moorpark, CA benefits Moorpark High School’s cross country and track programs. It includes two organized runs that start and finish at the high school campus and stadium.
Distances:
- 5 km - chip timed road race with a finish in the Moorpark High School stadium.
- 1 mile - kids and family fun run on the track called "Catch the Groundhog."
The 5k awards include a plaque for the overall top male and female and medals for the top three male and female finishers in each age group. Age groups for 5k awards are 0-7, 8-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-69, 70-79, and 80-120 (one medal). All 5k finishers age 11 and under receive a finisher medal. All 1 mile finishers receive a medal.
Registration fees are listed for each event and include a t-shirt for registered runners; shirts are only guaranteed for registrations completed by Sunday, January 24, 2027. Packet pick-up and on-site registration are scheduled at Moorpark High School the day before the event. Post-race activities include an awards ceremony, refreshments, vendors, and a raffle with locally donated prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
