About the race
The Moonlight Run is an annual road race in Lethbridge that in 2027 will mark its 40th edition on Saturday March 20. The event offers two course options that run into the river valley and use roads at the bottom of the 3rd Avenue hill.
Distances:
- 6 km walk or run
- 10 km run
The route begins and ends at CASA and follows Indian Battle Road for both distances. The 6 km is an out-and-back along Indian Battle Road. The 10 km includes that section plus an additional out-and-back segment that passes the Helen Schuler Nature Centre before returning up the hill to CASA. Strollers are allowed and are encouraged to start toward the back of the pack. Dogs are not permitted.
Registration details include an entry limit of 2500 participants. Entry fees listed for the event include adult and youth pricing and optional long sleeved shirts, sweatshirts, and finishers medals for additional fees. Refunds are not offered but entries may be transferred or updated according to the event policy. Prizes include monetary awards for overall top finishers in each event and medals for top five in each age category. Awards will be presented in the CASA Community Room after the event.
Proceeds from the event support the Cardiac Centre of Excellence for Southern Alberta. A school challenge recognizes the school with the most participants and a donation is made in that school’s name. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
