Event overview
The 39th Moonlight Run takes place on March 21, 2026, in Lethbridge, Alberta. The event offers two distances:
- 6 km walk/run, out-and-back along Indian Battle Road in the river valley
- 10 km run only, out-and-back that also passes the Helen Schuler Nature Centre
Both distances start and finish at CASA in downtown Lethbridge and include a climb on Wendy's Hill (approximate average grade 6%, 73 m elevation change over 1.2 km). The river valley sections can be dark after sunset. Dogs are not allowed. Participants receive a slice of pizza after returning.
Entry, prizes and logistics
Entries are limited to 2500 and registration is online only. Entry fees listed in the source are Adult (16 and over) and Youth (15 and under). Optional items with deadlines include long-sleeved shirts, a pullover sweatshirt, and an optional finisher medal (fee and deadline specified). There are cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female in both the 10K and 6K ($300, $200, $100 respectively). Age-category awards are in 5-year bands from 11 & under to 80+ with awards to five places.
There are no refunds. Changes to entries must be made by March 17; transfers require a paper form and a signed waiver. Changes or transfers after March 18 can be handled at package pickup. Package pickup is at the Community Room of CASA (230 8 Street South) on the days before the event. The Moonlight Run runs a School Challenge with a donation to KidSport Lethbridge & Taber for the school with the most participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
