Lost Soul Ultra

Lost Soul Ultra takes place September 11 and 12, 2026 in Lethbridge, Alberta, in the Oldman River valley. The race uses trail sections that run through river valley coulees on public and private land and offers multiple distance options.

Distances and format

  • 100 mile three laps plus an initial 9 km loop
  • 100 km two laps (approximately 102 km)
  • 50 km one 50 km lap

Course details The 50 km lap has about 1,100 meters of elevation change and includes around 14 significant hills, most between 50 and 80 meters in height. There are three aid stations on the 50 km lap placed at key points, with segment distances between stations ranging from 7 to 16 km.

Context and rules The event is held on lands of the Blackfoot people and lands shared with the Cree and Metis; the course passes near a historic site of intertribal conflict. The field is limited to 350 ultramarathoners. Entrants and pacers must be at least 18 years old. Finishers receive a large etched rock.

Qualifying information The 100 km and 100 mile distances are qualifying races for the Western States Endurance Run. The 100 km qualifying threshold is under 21 hours; the 100 mile distance can qualify with completion in 33 hours. Runners may not drop from the 100 mile to the 100 km during the race.
