About the race
The Moonlight on the Falls event takes place at Pendleton Point in Blackwater Falls State Park, Davis, West Virginia, on August 21 to 22, 2027. The event uses an all-paved looped course of 6.55 miles that starts and finishes at Pendleton Point.
Distances offered:
- 26.2 miles Marathon : 4 loops of the 6.55-mile course.
- 13.1 miles Half marathon : 2 loops of the 6.55-mile course.
- 6.55 miles Quarter marathon : 1 loop of the 6.55-mile course.
- Distance Challenge : run as many 6.55-mile loops as possible, with solo and team options.
Safety requirements are mandatory: all participants must wear a reflective vest or similar gear and use a headlamp because roads in the park are only partially closed to outside traffic at night. Glow sticks and other visible lighting for clothing are encouraged.
Distance Challenge details: the challenge is scored by total laps. Team entries are set up by one member who provides a password to teammates; each team member registers and pays individually. All Distance Challenge runners receive on-course parking permission for personal aid stations. A sunrise celebration for Distance Challenge participants will include breakfast items and beverages; participants show their Distance Challenge bib for access.
Event packet pick-up and pre-race activities include live music, vendors, and food. All participants receive event swag including a long sleeve hooded shirt and a finisher medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
