Moonlight Bootlegger 5K - Maybury State Park, Northville, MI
The Moonlight Bootlegger 5K takes place on May 9, 2026 at Maybury State Park, Northville, Michigan. This is the 14th edition of the after-dark trail event, which runs on a mix of wide trails and flowing singletrack. The course is well marked and lit by more than 300 tea lights. A headlamp or flashlight is required. The trails are described as welcoming to beginning trail runners and are mostly free of roots and other trip hazards. Live bluegrass music is scheduled at the finish area.
Entries, categories and included items
The event offers a 5k race with age categories listed separately: a general 5k entry (open to ages 21 to 99) and a 5k - Under 21 entry (open to ages 5 to 20). There is also a spectator registration option. Published entry fees are $45 for each 5k category and $20 for the spectator option. Registration items include a custom race shirt, a commemorative mason jar, two moonshine cocktails or mocktails, race photography, and a post-race celebration. The refund policy states no refunds within 30 days of the event; earlier requests may be eligible for a 50% refund minus processing fees. Entries cannot be deferred to another event or year.
