Event and charity
The Moon in June Road Race is an annual evening event in downtown Burlington. The 2026 edition is the 37th running. The event is volunteer-run with no paid staff. All event proceeds are donated to the Children's Aid Foundation of Halton. Over its history the event has donated more than one million dollars to local charities.
Race format and course
Distances offered include:
- 1 km Movati Meredith's Hero Run for Kids (ages 1-12)
- Gordon's Grand K family walk on the same short route
- 5 km walk or run
- 10 km run (two-loop of the 5 km course)
The course is certified: a flat, one-loop certified 5k and a two-loop certified 10k through downtown Burlington, highlighting the waterfront and downtown core. The start and finish are at the blue clock in front of Burlington City Hall.
Registration, entries and logistics
Pre-race bib pickup is available the day before at Movati Athletic and on race day at Burlington City Hall. Participants who register before May 18 receive a custom event T-shirt; all finishers receive a medal. Entry change options include refund, deferral, transfer or donation depending on timing; no options are available within 14 days of the race. Post-race amenities include food, soft drinks, a live band and beer gardens. A supervised bike corral and bag check are provided. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
