About the race
Summer Shores 1K/5K/8K takes place at Hutch’s on the Beach near Barrangas on Van Wagners Beach Road in Hamilton, Ontario on September 7, 2026. The courses run along the Hamilton waterfront trail and offer views of Lake Ontario. The event includes both in-person and virtual participation options.
Distances offered:
- 1 km in-person run or walk supporting Inclusion West Niagara.
- 5 km in-person run or virtual 5K.
- 8 km in-person run or virtual 8K.
The 1 km in-person entry includes a finisher medal and requires a registration fee plus a donation to Community Living Grimsby. There are age discounts for youth 16 and under and for seniors 65 and over. Strollers are permitted when starting from the back of the corral; dogs are not allowed.
Race kits include a choice of phone lanyard, race t-shirt, or three pack of socks. Kit pickup is available on select days before the event at locations in Burlington and Stoney Creek, with a race day pickup option at the Hutches site. Medals are available in pink or blue. Non perishable food items will be collected for Hamilton Food Share. If the in-person event is cancelled due to extreme conditions, participants will be moved to the virtual option and refunds will not be issued.
