Montgomery County Interfaith 5K
The Montgomery County Interfaith 5K is a community-focused athletic event held at the Maryland Soccerplex in Boyds, Maryland. This tenth annual gathering is organized through a partnership of several local religious organizations, including Shaare Torah Jewish Community, Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, The Interfaith Families Project of Greater Washington, Trinity Lutheran Church, and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. The event is inclusive and respects all backgrounds, with a specific policy against religious services, preaching, or proselytizing during the program.
Participants can choose from several distances and formats:
- 5K Road Race
- 5K Virtual Option
- 1K Kids Fun Run (ages 6-12)
- 100 Yards Tot Trot (ages 2-5)
Participants have the option to register as part of a team. Groups that reach 12 or more members by late August are eligible to have a table in the festival area. Registration includes the opportunity to receive an event shirt if completed by August 9th. An awards ceremony follows the main running events.
The event serves as a fundraiser for local community organizations, with proceeds from the 2026 edition designated for Gaithersburg Help and C-4. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at a sporting goods store in Rockville or at the Dairy Mooseum site on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
